It’s because Lefties ALWAYS assume that they will have the police/SWAT team doing their dirty work.
It never occurs to them that the VAST majority of military/ex military have guns and know how to use them.
People always say what is the final straw where you realize the government is 110% putting the boot on your neck and it’s time to actively resist (with all of the consequences that entails) ?
For many people gun confiscation is that final straw.

More Canadian idiocy. Remind him how well disarmament of the populace worked in Northern Ireland during the Troubles, and consider also that Belfast is about the same in size and population as the L.A. basin, and that there are an estimated 100,000 armed street gang members there, not counting the ordinary citizens.
One source I read estimated only about 3,000 active Provos at any one time during the Troubles.
