COVID

Some COVID facts, straight from my hospital experience. We are still short staffed, but that is more a pay issue than an overcrowding issue. I am still working 60 hours a week.

We are still at higher than normal patient levels. Our admitted patients are almost all either cardiac or COVID patients. We are seeing younger patients now. The typical patient being admitted now is in their early to mid 50s.

More patients are critical and are dying than before. I am seeing an average of 2 to 3 patients die of COVID related problems each day. There were none yesterday at my hospital, but four the day before. Nearly all of the deaths are in older people, but there are a few younger ones.

The treatment for COVID that I am seeing is largely high flow oxygen, Remdesivir, Vitamins C, D, and Zinc. We got a new protocol this week: any COVID patient who is on more than 6 liters of oxygen has to be placed on continuous remote blood oxygen monitoring. We don’t have enough of those for everyone, so surgical patients, those with a DNR, and other low priority patients are having to have their blood O2 checked manually every hour instead of continuously.

Anyhow, I managed to get the weekend off, so I posting on this blog will be light. I am going to relax for the weekend.

Enjoy your labor day.

A tempest in a teapot

Remember the guy who yelled at an MSNBC reporter? He was arrested by a US Marshals task force in Ohio. They congratulate themselves on arresting a “violent fugitive.” Calling him violent is a stretch. All he did was yell at the reporter. There is no evidence that he ever touched the reporter.

Even so, all of the charges against him are misdemeanors. He wasn’t even a fugitive unless they can prove that he was aware of the charges and was fleeing the state to avoid them. I can’t believe that these charges merited an entire Federal task force to catch him. From the US Marshals’ own webpage:

The purpose of regional fugitive task forces is to combine the efforts of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to locate and apprehend the most dangerous fugitives and assist in high profile investigations.

This is ridiculous. So the US Marshals are saying that this guy is one of the most dangerous fugitives in America? Of course not.

Anyone on the right who challenges the left is going to be placed in the gulag. Maybe the cops SHOULD be defunded.

Lindell is an unperson

January 6 protester is returning to jail because he listened to Mike Lindell, who they refer to as “one of the most prominent and prolific proponents of the election fraud conspiracy theories and lies” surrounding the January 6 protest.

I truly believe that the rally planned for September 18 will see some huge event that will be used to result in a nationwide crackdown. January 6 was the Reichstag fire. The COVID lockdowns were, and continue to be, our Krystalnacht. We are rapidly sliding towards a complete collapse of the Republic.

Taliban + China

Surprising no one, the Taliban have announced that China will be their main trading partner. This Afghanistan debacle is a disaster of such proportion that I don’t think we will know just how much damage was done for years.

China is becoming more and more powerful by the day, and this has played right into their hands. It’s almost like China is running the US.

Purging the military

This Marine corporal refused both the vaccine and wearing a mask, citing religious grounds, and got kicked out of the Corps. Now I know the article appears to be an attack on anti jab and anti mask people, but read between the lines.

They claim that she disobeyed two different orders, so kicking her out wouldn’t be an issue. Nonjuducial punishment for violations of Article 92 of the UCMJ and give her a General discharge under other than honorable conditions. The military does it all of the time for drug use and used to do it for homosexuals. The whole process takes about 6 weeks.

But that isn’t what happened here. Instead, she was given a nonpunitive general discharge under honorable conditions. The entire episode took a week. For those of you unfamiliar with the military, this is blindingly fast. Discharging means a complete physical, including ear, eye, and dental exams. Returning all issued gear and signing out of a command typically takes at least three days.

It is my belief that this happened so quickly because the powers that be are trying to empty the military of anyone to the right of Joseph Stalin. The COVID issue is a great litmus test for getting rid of those pesky rednecks who cling to quaint, outdated things like the Constitution.

They are prepping a military that will obey ANY order given. I wonder why?

Trespassed

If you are a parent and don’t want your children to wear a mask, don’t go to the school to speak with administration. If you do, the school will be placed on lockdown and you will be banned from going there.

I say this as a former teacher who spent 7 years there: do not put your kids in public school. They do not have your child’s best interests in mind. They only care about funding and political power.
