Sounds like something a 3rd grader would come up with.
Today marks the 52nd year (1974) since I made the worst mistake of my life by joining the army for 4 years. 10 months later I was in a parachute fall at night close to Gelnhausen Germany.

It amazes me that people celebrate this ‘event’. The subject of this celebration was a late EP announcement in Galveston TX that the blacks were free – but only in the rebelling states, the states over which Lincoln had no authority. The slaves were not freed by this proclamation in the Union states over which he did have authority.

The Emancipation Proclamation was a direct response to England proposal to recognize the Confederacy. Secretary of War Stanton advised Lincoln to abolish slavery as a means of enticing ENG to NOT recognize the Confederacy.

I celebrated by going to work, we had two sinkers from the storms last night, got the boats hauled out & now it’s time for beer, ribs & music. Damn juneteenth.
