Professor John Lott said in his book “More Guns, Less Crimes”, that you are 13 times more likely to be shot by a law enforcement officer than anybody else.
If banning is to occur let it start with ALL gov’t employees.
Then, after a year, a survey can revel how successful it was and perhaps expand it or eliminate it.
ALL laws should do a trial run on the people that create them before they are released to the public.

Something I’ve never understood, even before I got more involved with shooting, is why anyone would expect that someone who intends to break a number of laws would respect one more law. The stupidest example is to think anyone planning to go kill someone would respect such a law. After all, pretty much every civilization on the planet forbids murder, so if they’re going to do the thing everyone agrees is a Bad Thing, they’re going to not do that in order to comply with some piece of paper?

I had this same discussion with a girlfriend once. She was surprised that I could carry into a bank. I asked why, and she said, “Well, you might rob the bank.”
My reply was “What, so you think a bank robber is about to rob a bank when he sees a ‘no guns’ sign, then decides to cancel the bank robbery and go get a job?”
To her credit, she admitted her thought was a bit stupid and shortsighted.
