A SWAT team driving around in an unmarked van was taking random potshots at people on the street with rubber bullets.

Someone fires a shot or two in return, then immediately surrenders when he sees that they are cops. The cops swarm him.

It turns out that the group of people that the cops were shooting at were the business owner and some employees who were protecting the business from looters.

For over an hour, those cops had been driving around, randomly shooting at pedestrians they saw on the street. In the officer’s bodycam footage, officers armed with less-lethal launchers can be seen crowded in an unmarked, white cargo van. The van was equipped with police lights but the officers didn’t use them. As cops can be heard explaining, the van was the lead vehicle in a caravan of other, marked cars, and the cops wanted to use that stealth to their advantage. At one point an officer in the van asks for the trailing patrol cars to stay far behind “so we can… utilize 40s.”

Advance to 41 seconds. The man had already surrendered when the cops came up and began kicking, punching him, and slamming his head into the pavement. They fractured his eye socket. The officer doing the beating, Officer Stetson, wrote in his report that he struck Stallings to gain control of him, even though he was flat on the ground and not moving, and claimed Stallings wasn’t complying. The video shows that to be a lie.

The man, Jaleel Stallings, was charged with eight felonies, including attempted second degree murder of a LEO and first degree assault. Despite the large amounts of mitigating video evidence in the case, the charging attorney still wanted to throw the book at him, asking him to plead guilty to counts carrying 13 years in prison. Instead, he demanded a jury trial and was acquitted of all charges by the jury. He used self defense as his defense, and it worked.

His lawyer has since released the video showing that the cops went hunting that night. They even planned it out, and all of it was caught on their bodycams.

Discussing it while driving around, one supervisor said, “We’re going hunting. Fuck these people.”

During their “patrol” their bodycams even revealed them slashing people’s tires:

One of the officers admitted in court during the trial: “We went out that evening and concealed our presence so people wouldn’t flee and we’d be able to get close enough to shoot them… and we were actually having fun shooting them”

This behavior is indefensible. The cops here were just plain wrong, and were worse than the rioters that were burning the city.

I count no fewer than ten cops in a relatively small box. They are either engaged in beating up and cuffing the one suspect, or milling around while not really paying attention to their surroundings.

These are the actions of people who don’t really think that there is a threat.

Now imagine that the people they are abusing are mad enough to fight back. Imagine that the people who are fighting back have some military experience.

For those of you familiar with ambushes: What could a four man fire support element do if they were in an overwatch position 100 yards or so away and this was a planned ambush? How hard would it be to lure police into a kill box and then overwhelm them with large amounts of fire before disengaging and disappearing before the cops could organize an effective counter?

The police need to be very careful to stop treating the citizens they are sworn to protect as if they were the enemy, because the citizens might just eventually begin acting like it.

Watching from the other side of the world, from somewhere where any trust in police evaporated in the last couple of years, I’m a bit surprised it hasn’t happened yet. Apart from that BLM guy in Dallas (?) A few years ago.
Seems like most of the western world is losing the trust in institutions, and government that people had.

    Anonymous · May 4, 2022 at 7:21 am

With a name like Bluey, I think I know where you are from, and if so, like you, over the past 2 years I have lost total trust in the cops.
So much so that prior to Covid, it was probably only crim’s who did not like the cops, but now I would not be surprised if that was 10% to 25% of the population who now look at the cops as a bunch of bullies, thugs and cowards. Their behaviour over the past 2 years deserves such contempt, and a number of people who probably used to donate to the blue ribbon appeal would possibly be more likely to now donate to the Bandali Debs defence fund.

BobF · May 3, 2022 at 7:11 am

Us versus them isn’t just a catch phrase.

Will · May 3, 2022 at 7:20 am

I’m seeing another side to this incident. This guy was out after curfew after 4 days of rioting with a Mini Dacro in his truck. Sounds to me like he was looking for trouble and found it. Reasonable people try to avoid trouble. That means during curfew, you go home and stay there.

    EN2 SS · May 3, 2022 at 7:51 am

Just curious, did you even read the article? The victim was protecting his business, that’s difficult to do, when you’re safe at home in your sheep pen.

      Rob · May 3, 2022 at 8:58 am

      “4 days of rioting”

When you pour your heart and soul and treasure into your business, and find that your tax dollars are no longer protecting and serving you, what else are you to do? You’ve got to protect what’s yours. You’ve got to eat, pay bills, have shelter. @Will, your government hates you and doesn’t care a lick about you, except as a debt slave and taxpayer. Look at what’s in the $33 Billion Ukraine package coming to vote now: an international version of Disinformation Governance Board, farming subsidies for Europe and funding climate change initiatives there, and an international version of DoJ asset forfeiture.

That’s right, we’re going to help out Europe with their food supply, but we’re not going to do a thing for it here, except slow the transport of already extremely expensive fertilizer, and continue to sabotage food supply processors.

      Will · May 3, 2022 at 9:03 am

Yes I did read it. I think we are talking about 2 different incidents by the same SWAT team on the same night. I am talking about Jaleel K. Stallings. The incident involving him happened about an hour later.

    Divemedic · May 3, 2022 at 6:19 pm

Here is the problem I have with that:
So your theory is that, a person violating a curfew justifies the police driving around illegally using force against people by shooting them with rubber bullets when those people weren’t rioting. Then beating a prisoner who had already given up, then lying about it on an official statement and arresting him for crimes that he didn’t commit.
Then ask yourself how many people have been beaten, shot, and railroaded because some cops were acting like the very street gangs that they are supposed to be protecting society from.

Honestly, if this is what was going on in the police departments in Milwaukee, then I can understand why the people in that city wanted Chauvin in jail, and I can understand why they want to defund the cops.

      Will · May 4, 2022 at 7:03 am

I totally agree that SWAT was out of control. The only thing I’m suggesting is, if it had been me, I and my Draco would have been home, protecting my family, myself and my home. Just offering a different perspective.

        BFYTW · May 4, 2022 at 6:08 pm

Yeah, but it wasn’t you, was it? You don’t own a business that could have been destroyed. So what exactly, is your “different perspective” worth? Not a damn thing.

      gg · May 5, 2022 at 1:29 am

I retired as a Lieutenant in Los Angeles. I’m appalled at the actions of the supposedly cops…Obviously they don’t have any training. OMG they disrespect Law Enforcement and the community.

Corn Pop · May 3, 2022 at 7:23 am

WTH – From a family of LEO’s, I am appalled. Fire these clowns and charge them with menacing the public!

Billy Bob in Texas · May 3, 2022 at 7:53 am

And cops wonder why people hate them and don’t trust them to do anything but protect their paycheck.

    Ike · May 4, 2022 at 9:00 am

Protect their paycheck… Yep, never underestimate the power of a paycheck, it made Doctors refuse medicine to patients, Covid.

We need to think seriously about the leadership of the department. Top down, all of the way to the cops that did this, they need to find out what loss of pay, and position costs.

Big Ruckus D · May 3, 2022 at 1:58 pm

Fuck the police. You’ll all make note of the fact that it took a jury trial that went the right way – which was by no means a foregone conclusion – for the plaintiff to be acquitted of charges imposed because of a rightful response to what the police did (he should’ve killed them all in self defense, as is obvious from their handling of the situation) but also for the public to learn of this and to have the video of their criminality disclosed.

But for the jury making the right call, we may never have seen any of this evidence, and it’s likely the department would never have admitted it took place, much less punished any of the cops involved. Bottom line, they very nearly succeeded in avoiding accountability, and railroading a man in the process.

The plaintiff should now be able to asset strip every one of those fuckers to their last dollar, and I’m talking about their personal assets, not those of the city (read: taxpayers) who employed them. Cops pull stuff like this, and then blithely ignore the commission of those crimes they are told to, because the perpetrators are declared untouchable by an implied govt decree. If that’s how they’re going to roll, then they are worthless for doing the job that they’re supposed to exist for to begin with, and should be disbanded, with their budgets refunded back to taxpayers. Enough of this.

TCK · May 3, 2022 at 5:14 pm

Cops working for demonrats are subhuman gestapo filth? What else is new?

AC47spooky · May 3, 2022 at 5:31 pm

The police seem to believe they are “oppressed” citizens.

I mean seriously? The wolf gets to decide if the wolfs video can be released. Are you F&)kin kidding me???

And this..
“ In his written report, Bittell didn’t say that his team fired any 40mm rounds at Stallings before Stallings fired at the van, writing only that he “heard shots fired from the rear of the pickup and saw muzzle flashes from that area.” So lies by Omission are
Cool for the Law?? Got it!!
This cop needs to be relieved of food needs. Period. It’s a rabid dog.

This..
“ the video shows the SWAT team fired 40mm rounds at civilians without warning, then yelled at them to “go home.”

    TCK · May 3, 2022 at 8:03 pm

Are you really surprised that democrat cops prioritized brutalizing innocent home and business owners over trying to subdue the actual rioters?

    Anonymous · May 5, 2022 at 1:35 am

Dude, these arn’t normal cops….These guys are ass holes totally out of line. I want their asses too!!!! Makes me sick. 90 percent of cops are good and want to do good for the community, that is why they join the force. Please don’t judge all cops by the action of a few….

      Divemedic · May 5, 2022 at 6:04 am

The problem is that the “good” cops never do anything to prevent or report the bad cops from doing this sort of thing. That makes them complicit.
The cops in the marked units that were following that SWAT team are just as guilty. Not one “good” cop even pointed out to them what a bad idea it was.

        Zarba · May 6, 2022 at 10:51 am

I keep hearing that bullsh*t from idiots like Sean Hannity when he is gaslighting us on the FBI.

Amazingly, the 90% never did jack shit to stop the Russia Hoax to bring anyone to justice. Just like all those camp guards in the Gulags.

The fact that any of the cops involved have jobs is a crime.

      Comrade Terry · May 5, 2022 at 11:55 am

“90 percent of cops are good and want to do good for the community, that is why they join the force.”

Just keep thinking that way. Get back to us, and let us know how that works out for you.

      BFYTW · May 5, 2022 at 1:46 pm

What a bunch of bs. The same stupid comments from copsuckers on every story detailing abuse by the thugs in blue. If 90% of them “just wanted to do good” they wouldn’t stand idly by while the corrupt 10% do shit like this.

KBYN · May 4, 2022 at 7:55 am

Democrat cops belonging to a Democrat labor union, working for a Democrat city and hired by Democrat supervisors, ride around in unmarked vehicles shooting at (and beating) Democrat voters, aided and abetted afterward by Democrat prosecutors and Democrat judges, while the Democrat media and Democrat activists blame … conservatives.

Mencken was right: “Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.”

dave in pa. · May 4, 2022 at 10:27 am

sooner or later they will come up against a honest man. and he will not take any shit from the likes of them. and if they fucking pissed him off enough to do something about it. god help the fools.
getting a “fair” trial is getting more rare everyday now.
these stupid fuckers are standing in a puddle of gas and playing with matches. this us vs them shit will not go the way they think it will.
