Just for Me, Not You

Andrew Wilkow has a theory that the only reason why the left is opposed to capitalism and rich people is because they can’t stand knowing that ordinary people have access to luxuries that only the important people should have. After all, what’s the point of being a VIP if anyone with money could do it? He calls this theory his “Everyman a King” theory. So what’s an elitist to do?

Advocate for laws that restrict the poor from having things while leaving yourself exempt. Check out Taylor Swift, a gun control supporter.

Now check out her $3 million a year worth of armed security, including hiring off duty armed cops. Even in Australia, she is accompanied by armed guards. Guns are only illegal in Oz if you are poor, I guess.

She is so paranoid about security that she admits to carrying what she calls “Army grade QuikClot bandage dressings” for gunshot or stab wounds. She uses facial recognition at her concerts to help weed out security threats.

So she hates guns- unless they are to protect her. Even then, this airheaded, paranoid moron fires her security guards for doing their jobs. It may be a well paid gig, but I wouldn’t be interested.

Busy

My tenants moved out a couple of weeks ago. I have been spending every spare minute trying to get the place ready to rent again.

  • The countertops needed to be replaced at a cost of $4,000.
  • The lawn is dead because they turned off the sprinklers in a bid to save money.
  • They glued mirrors to one of the walls with construction adhesive. The entire wall will have to be ripped out and replaced in order to get them out of there. I will do it myself, but a contractor would charge $3,000 or so to get it done.
  • There is a large amount of filth in the place. I found sausages under the stove, and it looked like no one had moved any of the appliances to clean behind or under them for the four years they were in there. There are bits of food stuck to walls, ceilings, and some of the light fixtures.
  • Most of the light bulbs needed to be replaced. Of the 42 bulbs in the house, 24 of them were burned out.
  • There were over 200 nail holes in the walls, a hole in one of the doors, and numerous pushpins in the ceilings and walls.
  • The lanai screen needs replacing after someone/something pushed it out of the frame.
  • The screen door from the lanai to the back yard has to be replaced.
  • They painted a bedroom that has to be painted back to its original color.
  • The laminate floor in three different rooms has liquid damage from what appears to be pet urine. I’m not going to replace it now, but reflooring the place will likely cost $6,000 to $7,000.
  • The stove and refrigerator need to be replaced. The glass cooktop on the stove was shattered.

All in all, the damages come to about $20,000. There is no way that I am giving this guy his deposit voluntarily. He is claiming that, since I am doing most of the work myself, I can’t bill him for anything but materials. He claims that since the appliances were more than 5 years old and depreciated, I can’t bill him for that, either.

This is why landlords need to charge so much. This is wiping out a large chunk of the profit from the past four years they were renting from me. This reduces my ROI to about 2.5 percent per year. I would do better putting that money into a high yield CD. The only saving grace here is that the property has increased in value, so when sold I can pull some profit out.

I am seriously thinking about selling now, but the wife likes the passive income and wants to try to find another tenant. So for that reason, I am spending most of my free time getting it ready for the next tenant. Then once that is done, I have to get the other house ready for sale.

For the next couple of months, I don’t have a lot of free time.

Illegals Don’t Like Taxes

There is the story of an illegal immigrant (but they are calling her a ‘migrant’) who was illegally selling fruit in NYC. When the cops asked for her ID, she refused to provide it and was assessed a $1,000 fine. Now we see the press in NY feeling sorry for her and talking about how unfair it is that she should have to pay this when all she was doing was trying to make a living.

“On the phone, the judge told me that he was imposing a fine of $1,000, which I think is unfair. It shouldn’t be for working that I get fined. I don’t think it’s right.”

She thinks she shouldn’t have to pay for working? Lady, you haven’t seen shit yet. Wait until you have to pay 40% of your income in taxes, only to watch it spent on supporting grifters like yourself.

What about all of the hardworking Americans who are making a living legally? They are having to pay so this illegal immigrant can get a free place to stay at a cost of over $100,000 a year. One could argue that there shouldn’t be a license required to sell fruit, and I get that. However, when one group of people has to get a license and another does not, it sets up a playing field that is tilted in favor of lawbreakers like this woman.

Pillajo briefly began working with an agency that helps migrants find work for a placement fee. The agency found Pillajo a family in Brooklyn to clean for

Then there is this. There is an agency of the government that is HELPING illegal immigrants find illegal, under the table work? Our tax dollars are paying for this?

Delusional

Every leftist is convinced, once their communist/socialist utopia is achieved, that they will be able to write shitty rap music, play video games, and pursue leisure activities all day while the government gives them everything for free.

The reality is that they will have all of their possessions taken, and will be assigned a job on a collective work farm or people’s factory.

This Hit Me in the Feels

I have watched my parents get older, more feeble, and finally die. It’s been two months since Mom passed, and Dad died 19 years ago. Time makes it easier, but it still is a difficult part of growing up that you don’t spend much time thinking about when you are young.
