We Interrupt Our Mourning for This…

I wasn’t going to post for awhile, but morons sucked me in. Found on X (Formerly Twitter):

Stay safe out there folks. This is a PSA. Last night I called a Lyft ride. It was a long ride, but I talked to the driver before hand, and recommended the proper route. I live in downtown Cincinnati. Immediately, he drives into KY. My destination was in Ohio.

After 10 minutes of KY driving, assuming the best of intentions, I expressed that he was going the wrong way, and that the other way was quicker. He laughed at me.

I felt my heart sink.

At this moment, I confirmed that my location was shared with my people. I shared the ride too.

I contacted 911 through ADT in the Lyft app, & called 911 myself. I pretended like I was confirming plans for a party, & gave the dispatcher the info I could.

“Ma’am, this is 911, did you mean to call 911?” Yes sir. I did. I don’t know where I am going. At this moment I noticed that my driver had two GPS’s. One to my destination, and one mapped to somewhere 7 hours away.

In the app my arrival time was rapidly increasing. Hours being added to the time. I have never been so scared. Finally – a police officer pulled him over for speeding. They got him out of the car, and spoke to me. They let me charge my phone in one of the cruisers while they tried to figure out what had happened.

By the time he got pulled over – after I lost cell service several times – I was over 65 miles from home. Further from my destination than when I started. There were weapons in the car. I could see them.

This could’ve been so much worse. Had I not trusted my gut, had I thought I was overreacting, this could have been horrific. I’m so grateful I had the tools to do something. Who knows what could’ve happened if I didn’t.

An officer drove me to a nearby field, and we waiting for the Lyft driver to leave the county. I then waited for a friend, alone, for an hour at a local gas station. During the ordeal I was texting my partner – he said “I have never known you to be this scared.” Because I’m never this scared. But god, was I terrified.

So there were a bunch of posts telling her to file charges. My answer was simple: For what crime? Everyone, and I mean HUNDREDS of responses slammed me, calling me stupid, claiming that this was abduction or kidnapping. As evidence:

  • He didn’t go the right way. I explained that this isn’t a crime in itself. It’s a civil matter. An airplane that is supposed to fly to NY but diverts to NJ didn’t kidnap you.
  • There were weapons. So? In OH and KY, it isn’t illegal to have a weapon in your vehicle.
  • They crossed state lines. That isn’t a crime, either.
  • Then it was “Explain why he had 2 GPS’s and why he laughed at her.”
  • They also said he was speeding, as if that is grounds for a kidnapping charge.

I explained that they were incorrect, that there was no evidence of either crime. Abduction is defined in OH as:

By force or threat, remove another from the place where the other person is found

Since she willingly got into the car, and at no time in the story did she ask to be let out of the car, it wasn’t by force. He didn’t threaten her, so this wasn’t legally an abduction. One person said, deception is enough for kidnapping, but A required element of Kidnapping requires a demand for ransom, sexual performance, or furthering a felony. There was no evidence of that, either.

That’s when the discussion degenerated, and I bowed out. I was called a pedophile, a predator, and a dick sucker. I was accused of being the driver in the story. Then they all screamed that I was stupid and said that if the guy can’t explain away what happened, that’s evidence of a crime.

I admitted that what happened was suspicious, but there isn’t enough here for charges. They guy doesn’t have to prove that he didn’t commit a crime, the cops have to prove that he did. The fact that a ride share didn’t take you where you wanted to go is not a crime.

There are holes in her story anyway. How did the GPS show that she was “hours” away from her destination without her driving into KY for hours, and it only took her friends an hour to come get her from the gas station in KY? Had they arrested this guy, a first year law student could beat the charges. This story is exactly why your mom told you not to get into strangers’ cars.

Jesus, people can be ignorant. They should use their heads for something other than a buttplug.

Nothing like a good internet argument to make you forget your troubles for a bit.

Not Challenged

Eighty percent of all grades at Yale are an A. Yale isn’t alone. Seventy-nine percent of grades handed out at Harvard are As. It wasn’t always like that. Ten years ago, 60 percent of students had an A.

The proportion of A-range grades given in the 2020-21 academic year varied significantly by division: 73 percent in the Arts and Humanities, 65 percent in both the Sciences and Social Sciences, and 60 percent in courses at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

The percentage was higher in the African American Studies department at 82.21 percent. However, it was the Gender Students department that showed that 92.6 percent of grades were in the A range. So only 7 % of students did not receive an A in gender studies.

So the colleges are teaching woke garbage. My advice to you is this: If your doctor or lawyer graduated from Yale or Harvard in the past decade, I would ask some hard questions about their qualifications. It seems that both colleges, perhaps all of the big colleges, are padding their grades.

When I was a teacher, my feeling on the subject of grades was this:

There are standards and objectives that a teacher has to meet for the class. That is, every student has to demonstrate that they have met those objectives. If they have, they get a passing grade. However, if all of your students are getting an A, you as a teacher are not challenging them enough. In other words, you are a pushover and your class is too easy.

It seems that the problem is that the students’ reviews of teachers are what is being used to judge raises and promotions.

as one faculty member put it, external “market forces” are influencing grading, particularly as faculty rely on positive course evaluations from students for professional advancement, she said in the interview.

I will tell you that my nursing school didn’t do that. Of the students who began the cohort, 31 percent of them failed out of the program. Of the ones who completed the program, there was a 100 percent rate of passing the licensure exam. So maybe it’s just the Ivy league, or perhaps just the big schools that are padding their grades.

Still, the real value in attending Ivy League schools has never been a superior education. Those schools have always been about bragging rights and networking. That’s why Presidents Obama, Clinton, both Bush presidents, Ford, and JFK all attended an Ivy League college.

Even more telling: Barack Obama, Harry Truman, Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush are all related. Barak Obama’s grandfather, Stanley Dunham, is a cousin of George W Bush.

There is even more in a future post.

In Memoriam

Sorry that this post will be long, but this post is from a grieving son who is mourning his mother. I got a call from my brother in law, who is the manager of a restaurant. It seems that my mother’s husband came by to see him during the lunch rush. He thought that they had come by for lunch, as the frequently did, and thought it was odd that just one of them was there, so he asked. The conversation went like this:

NH: I just came by to tell you that my wife is dead. She died in her sleep last night.

BIL: What did the cops say?

NH: I haven’t called them. I couldn’t remember the number.

BIL called his wife, then he called me. I live more than an hour away, so I called the cops to go by and check on her as I rushed to get over there…

I don’t blame the new husband. Mom married him about 4 years ago, and it’s been increasingly obvious to all of us that he has dementia. He can’t be trusted to drive alone, and the police had to go looking for him the last time he tried, because he was missing for hours.

I went over there, and I had to go into the house to identify the body. My sister couldn’t do it. I have seen plenty of dead bodies in my years in the medical field, but seeing my mother’s face on a corpse was pretty rough. I did OK and held it together until I went to leave the room, when I said “Goodbye, Mom.” That was when it hit me. My mother is gone, and I am now an orphan. A wall of grief that was unbearable overcame me.

My mother wasn’t perfect. Like all of us, she was a flawed human. When I was a child, she used to burn my fingers with matches when we touched something that we weren’t supposed to. When we said something objectional, she would put hot peppers in our mouths. She used to tell me things like “I have to love you because I am your mother, but I don’t have to like you.” Later as an adult, I was homeless for a time. That’s when I called my parents for help, because even though we hadn’t been speaking for a couple of years, I had nowhere else to turn. They hung up on me. There were plenty of reasons for me to resent her. All of those reasons are probably why I have had so many failed relationships. It made me into a person that isn’t good at being vulnerable or sharing my feelings.

The good memories of my parents far outnumber the bad. She was my mother, and I love her. After dad died, we lived together in my house for almost two years because she had nowhere else to turn. As the eldest son, it was my duty.

My earliest memories are from when I was three years old or so. I remember chasing dad and throwing snow at him as you laughed in joy. I remember the time I fell in that ant mound, and how you were brushing the ants from me as I cried. I remember the time I fell from the swing set and broke my arm, how you came running to help me. My fondest memory from my childhood is feeling the cool fall air blow through the house as you put up the fall decorations.

Every boy seeks the advice and approval of his father, but seeks the comfort and love of his mother. Now that I am the eldest remaining in my family, I no longer have either. It’s been many decades since I sat in your lap and was comforted by my mother’s embrace, I still remember and cherish those memories. Still, life goes on, and I am comforted by the love and support of my wife. Mom, when we spoke last week, you told me that you were happy that I had finally found a wife who is as good for me as she is, and how you were comforted knowing that I finally had the happiness that had eluded me for so long. Our dinner together for Thanksgiving was lovely, and I will cherish our time together for the rest of my life. You taught me so much.

My mother. I won’t be able to give her the Christmas gift I bought her. She won’t be able to call me on my birthday at the exact time I was born, just as she used to do every year. No more dinners with my mother. No more phone calls. I will never see or speak again to the woman that I have known longer than anyone else.

It seems to me that life is now a burden that must be borne without the guidance of the generation that came before. My parents and all but one of their siblings are now gone, along with their parents before them. Three of my five cousins are dead, as are five of my seven aunts and uncles, and one of my nephews.

My Father went into cardiac arrest on my Mother’s birthday, spent a couple of weeks in the ICU, and passed away on my Brother’s birthday. It was a decade before my Mother would celebrate her birthday again. Now, 19 years later, the circle is complete. Even though she remarried, she passed away on my Father’s birthday.

Goodbye Mom. I love and miss both you and Dad. My life is diminished without you, and my heart is breaking. Because I have always felt that funerals held in Latin were a beautiful way to say goodbye, and the Latin prayer Requiem Aeterna is a particlarly beautiful prayer:

Requiem aeternam dona ei. Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei. Requiescat in pace.

As far as the blog goes, I have some posts that I wrote these past few days, and they will be posting while I am absent. I need some time to make funeral arrangements and to grieve with my family.

You Aren’t Better than I

A Naval Officer refers to the enlisted under his command as hatchet-wielding, drunken, aggressive degenerates and perverts. How can we expect anyone to follow the orders of someone that hates them? The real issue here is that, in days gone by, officers were from noble families, and enlisted were commoners. This anachronism is a holdover from the middle ages, and it needs to be replaced. I’m not the only one who thinks so.

Some officers are so convinced of their innate superiority that they believe themselves to possess some sort of godlike status, some even going to far as to state that once a person is an enlisted man, they should never be eligible to taint the ranks of officers by becoming one of them.

The reality is that there is no difference in character between officers and enlisted. I got ripped off by an officer while I was in. This officer gamed the system and screwed me over. The CO at the time believed that officers could do no wrong, so I lost a lucrative cash award, one that went to the officer.

It isn’t that officers are college educated, while enlisted men aren’t. When I was in boot camp, there was an older recruit* who had a 4 year degree. Even so, how does attending college and getting a 4 year degree somehow qualify someone to lead men into combat?

It isn’t that they are better behaved. When I was in the military, all of the enlisted personnel had to attend sexual sensitivity training because a group of officers had engaged in sexual depravity.

There are those who disagree, but their arguments ring hollow. In this article, an 11 year enlisted man says that officers have more responsibility than enlisted, citing an Ensign serving as officer of the deck of a ship as an example. In the very next paragraph, this enlisted man says that he serves as junior officer of the deck on his own ship. That’s because the distinction between officers and enlisted isn’t based on command. New army doctors automatically become officers, even if they don’t command anyone. Doctors are non-combatants, and even though fighter pilots are combatants, they don’t command anyone^, even though all of them are officers.

the distinction is not based on command: New army doctors automatically become officers, even if they don’t command anyone. Doctors are non-combatants, but fighter pilots are combatants par excellence, don’t command anyone, and are all officers- even though that hasn’t always been the case. During World War 2, there were plenty of pilots who weren’t officers.

We see the same all through our society, even though we claim that our society doesn’t allow noble titles. In medicine there is a clear distinction between doctors and nurses, even a nurse who has earned a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. There are different status levels among doctors and among nurses, but a DNP stands on the other side of a clear border from a beginning MD. To the point where a nurse who has a doctorate is not permitted to be called “doctor,” lest they be confused with an MD.

It isn’t that the MD can do things that an APRN or DNP can’t- because all of them can write prescriptions. Even as an RN, I routinely write medical orders, so that can’t be it.

It’s because Americans claim that they despise nobility because they don’t want to take orders, while secretly wishing that they can wield power over others. That’s the reason why lawyers become judges who will jail someone for “disrespecting” them by wearing a pair of shorts to court. It’s why people can become tyrants as soon as they become the President of the HOA.

Power corrupts, and our founding fathers knew it. It’s why the founders were so careful in keeping the government a weak one.

*The “older recruit” was 25 or so. Most of us were 18 or 19. In the military, more than half of the service is under the age of 24. In 2021, the military had 592,979 personnel aged 25 and under, but 287,604 were 26-30 years old.

^Yes, there are fighter pilots who command squadrons, warships, and airwings. However, they are officers from day one, and their status as officers isn’t relevant to that.

National Rifle Association

The NRA is just phoning it in to make more money.

It’s literally in your name, but not only did you get the sights on backwards and in the wrong place, but the ARs look like airsoft guns. This is why my gun organization donations no longer go to them, they go to the FPC.

Get Your Kids Out

A pair of Colorado parents are suing a school district for making their 11 year old daughter sleep in the same bed with a boy while on a school trip. Of course, those on the left think that the parents are being discriminatory because identifies as or something.

At the same time, they see no problem with this mom prioritizing play time and swim lessons over homework.

These two stories illustrate that, to the left, schools are more important as indoctrination centers than they are about education.

Enemy of the People

Remember when AOC was advocating an enemies list? They had a website and everything. They were openly talking about targeting Trump supporters and putting them in reeducation camps. They have been making those lists since the 2020 election. The post office is tracking who gets what, like NRA mailers, Trump fundraising requests, and other markers of freedom support.

It turns out that they never stopped in that effort. The Federal prosecutors have a list of people who supported, retweeted, or made any comments in support of Donald Trump. They aren’t just going after him, his cabinet, his lawyers, and anyone else in his inner circle. That’s just the start. They have an official list of enemies of the people. We in gun circles have long said that the only reason for a firearm registry is to facilitate confiscation. Likewise, the only reason for a list of Trump supporters is to populate the reeducation camps that they have already told us we will be sent to.

People have called me a paranoid asshole for over 30 years because I have taken the position that gun ownership means being able to resist government tyranny. Now the left is coming right out and telling you their plan to haul you off for reeducation. Do you still think I am paranoid?

The camps are coming. HRC announced it, as we talked about less than two months ago. Keep an eye out for people who start disappearing. There is no longer any doubt- they are coming. It is now just a matter of timing.

My theory is that Trump will be defeated in one fashion or another, and then there will be an enabling incident that will either occur organically or will be staged. That will be all the excuse that they need to start things off.

Rush your preparations to completion.

  • Make sure that you have guns, body armor, magazines, and ammunition.
  • Cache some of them off site. Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket.
  • Know who the people in your area are. Know where the liberals live. Try to figure out who the informers are.
  • Know how to escape your home neighborhood and your job on foot. Have a BOB in your vehicle. They may come for you while you aren’t home.
  • Practice an escape and evasion plan.

Do it. Your life will probably depend on it. If they DO come for you, don’t go quietly in the hope that they will let you go or kill you last. The Soviets have a road built by the residents of the Gulags- there are a million people’s bones in the pavement of that road.

More ATF Changes

The ATF continues the war on gun ownership in general, and self made firearms in particular. Since they can’t get traction for changing the law through Congress, they are using the bureaucratic apparatus to pass new laws. If you don’t already have the means for making your own firearms, I would suggest you do so soon, or your window of opportunity will close for good.

Important Update Regarding ATF Regulations and Easy Jig Sales Due to recent changes in ATF regulations, 80% Arms and 5D Tactical can no longer sell or support jigs directly.
Support and Warranty Service: For all Easy Jig and Pro Jig customers, modulusarms.com will now handle support. Modulus Arms will honor warranty services, provide technical support, and offer replacement tools and parts for all Easy Jig and Pro Jig products.
Manufacturing and Sales: While Easy Jigs will continue to be manufactured by 80% Arms and Pro Jigs by 5D Tactical, all sales must now be conducted through their independent dealers to comply with the new regulation. They are no longer permitted to sell jigs or distribute manuals via their websites under these new ATF rules.
Legal Challenges: Both companies are actively challenging this government overreach in court. They are optimistic about a favorable ruling from the Supreme Court in 2024, as both the District Court and the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals have ruled decisively in our favor.
Availability through Dealers: In the meantime, both jigs are still available through their dealers, despite the inability to sell them directly.
