First they accused Trump of being a dictator. Then they accused the Florida governor. The entire time, President Biden has been telling the Republicans to either do as they are told, or he will simply do it without them.

Illegal to record cops in public?
A woman records cops who are arresting her son. The cops claim that the act of recording them in a public place while they are carrying out the public’s business and collecting a public paycheck is somehow obstructing their investigation.
An appeals court in Palm Beach County Florida agreed. According to the court, recording the cops should be illegal.
Frankly, that bothers me.

California ANG shakeup
After the story broke about the California National Guard putting a fighter on alert for dealing with protests, there is a shakeup in the leadership of the guard. One has to wonder if the general was fired for putting the fighter on alert, or if he was a sacrificial lamb offered up to cover the governor’s ass.

Always have a gun
A woman had her purse stolen while she was at work. The ID in that purse was used to purchase and activate an iPhone at an Orlando shopping mall.
At the same shopping mall, a man purchased expensive items at Gucci and Louis Vuitton before leaving the mall to attend a party. Two men wearing ski masks and carrying firearms entered the party to rob the guests. The two criminals demanded the keys to his Lexus while also stealing a Christian Dior bag, a gold chain and a wallet from him. During the robbery, the guests complied with the robber’s demands, but one of them fired a shot anyway, killing another partygoer.
When police were investigating the robbery and murder, they discovered the illegally obtained iPhone attached to the bottom of the car of the man who had been shopping. The robbers selected their robbery victim because it appeared as though he had money, then attached the iPhone to the car as a tracking device, which they used to follow him to his destination in order to rob him.
The poor partygoer who was murdered did not do a thing other than go to a party. This is why you should carry a firearm everywhere you go.
What many in the press won’t mention is that this is a story that plays out a dozen times a day, every day, all over the country. One black man killed by another, while the media and BLM waste their time protesting drug abusers who overdose and demand that police departments be disbanded.

Two Americans killed a police officer that they believed to be a drug dealer who had taken their money without delivering any cocaine. It turned out to be a police officer. They were convicted and sentenced to life. The twist? This was in Italy. The crime was carried out using a knife.
They killed someone, and didn’t use a gun. It isn’t guns that cause murder, it is a mindset that causes murder. These two will rot in a European jail. They deserve to.

The courts have finally put a stop to the government forcing landlords to absorb the cost of their unconstitutional lockdowns.
That is good, because the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau was also getting involved, claiming that collecting the debt from tenants who shafted their landlord was also illegal.
According to the CFPB’s analysis and other data:
Millions of families are at risk of being evicted: In December 2020 about 18 percent of renter households were behind on their rent, which means nearly 9 million households at risk of eviction. In a typical year, there are about 900,000 evictions nationwide. Over 27 percent of households with annual income under $25,000 were behind on their rent.
Stopping evictions saves lives: Research shows that COVID-19 infection rates and mortality rates were higher when eviction moratoria were removed. The CFPB’s rule will help ensure that more renters are able to take advantage of their protections and avoid eviction.
Evictions increase racial inequality: Black and Hispanic households are more than twice as likely to be tenants than white households, and they are also twice as likely to be behind on rental payments as of December 2020, according to a March CFPB report . Evictions impose substantial costs on individuals, families, and children, and having an eviction on your record can make it much harder to find a new rental property. Even an eviction filing can make it impossible for a family to locate new housing.
You see what the real reason is? Blacks are refusing to pay rent at a higher rate than whites, so evictions are racist.

Shield Plus
Walked into the local gun store today, and look what followed me home.
Yes, a Performance Center Shield Plus, complete with Crimson Trace microdot sight. I bought it because this gun is VERY difficult to find. So, I get to type a new gun review.
If you don’t want to read this entire post, just know this: Smith and Wesson hit a home run with this handgun. It may very well be the ultimate concealed carry handgun.
A size comparison between the Shield (bottom), the Shield Plus (middle), and the M&P9c (top) shows you that the Plus is the same length as the 9c, and the same height as the Shield. They are all roughly the same thickness. (picture edited to cover serial numbers. Also note that the cover is on the microdot in this picture)
The Shield plus comes with 2 magazines: A 13 round extended one, and a flush fitting 10 round magazine. Note that the Plus also has the flat face trigger, which is smooth and has a nice, crisp break. It is comparable to the Apex trigger that I installed on the 9c.
This particular model came with a ported barrel and slide:
The slide is also cut for the microdot sight (which the gunsmith at the LGS installed for me before I left the store) and comes with dual color fiber optic sights. (sorry camera on phone won’t focus on front, rear, and red dot at the same time.)
I took it to the range in the store, and got the red dot dialed in. Then I put a mag through the ten ring as quick as I could line up the red dot on the target. The fact that this small handgun is ported seemed to make the muzzle flip easier to control and get the sights back on target.
The standard Shield Plus was in the store for $550. They had another Performance Center Shield Plus in the store for $845, but that one didn’t have the ported slide, and this one was $925. That $925 included the handgun, 2 magazines, a cleaning kit, and all of the other little fiddly bits like Allen wrenches for adjusting the sight, mounting screws, the gun lock, etc.
The only negative thing that I have to say about this handgun is that the magazines are not compatible with any other M&P magazines, and extra magazines are impossible to find anywhere. The LGS didn’t have any, Gunmagwarehouse doesn’t have any, nor does Brownell’s. Even Smith and Wesson’s website doesn’t list any magazines for this handgun.
In fact, the list of places that DON’T have the magazines for this pistol is extensive. The two that come with the pistol are all you will have for the foreseeable future. I would advise against buying one of these until magazine availability improves, because with a possible standard capacity magazine ban on the horizon, you may be stuck with an expensive paperweight in the near future. Buying one at this time represents a risk.
