I am done

This article blames the school system because a high school student had a 0.13 grade point average and failed nearly every class he took. The student in question was absent 272 times in four years. He failed his classes for four years, and the first time the kid’s mother knew anything was during the final semester of his senior year? Yeah, mother of the year right there.

I have 133 students this year. Of those, more than half of them (68) are currently failing my course. Six of those students have a perfect zero for the current marking period, due to the fact that they have not turned in a single one of the fifteen assignments that has been assigned to them. In fact, more than half of my students have received at least 6 zeros. The mean grade for my students is a 48 percent.

Absenteeism is over the top. I have students who have been absent more than not. One of my students has only been in class six times so far this year. I have over a dozen students that I have not seen nor heard from since before Christmas.

There is nothing that I as a teacher can do. I teach, but the student has to show up and actually make an effort. I am tired of caring more about my students’ success than they or their parents.

In fact, I have had enough. I am done. I am putting in my two weeks’ notice tomorrow. Since spring break is coming up, my last day as a teacher will be next Friday. This morning, I was offered a job supervising techs at a nearby hospital. I accepted.

Back to the medical business.

If you are surprised

then you aren’t paying attention.

It was announced today that the National Guard’s occupation of the Capitol will be extended for another 60 days. I told you three weeks ago that they would be staying indefinitely, even though they were claiming that the assignment would only be until mid-March.

They claimed that there was a threat for March 4. That didn’t happen. This is all a bunch of smoke and mirrors. This is a permanent Republican guard. All that is missing is that El Presidente isn’t wearing his military uniform.

Let the games begin

My tax records have all been sent to the accountant. Let me say that I am against the stimulus checks. With that being said, no one is listening, so my goal is to maximize my chances of receiving whatever they are going to hand out. So that is the instruction that my accountant has been given:

Find a way for us to legally get as much of that money as we can while limiting our tax exposure. If that means that I have to claim all of the income from our business ventures and investments, and then we file separately so at least one of us gets the money, then so be it.

So the accountant tells me that she will run different scenarios to see which way and what deductions will result in the best financial situation. That is why we pay her, after all.

Lying liars that lie

The director of the FBI says, “We have not to date seen any evidence of anarchist violent extremists or people subscribed to Antifa in connection with the sixth.”

How would he know? Why, not even six months ago, the very same FBI director testified under oath to Congress, and had this to say: “Antifa is not a group or an organization. It’s a movement or an ideology.”

How can both statements be true? They cannot. This leads me to one of two conclusions: Either the FBI is lying and is a part of the cabal that overthrew the legitimate government of the United States, or the FBI cannot find his ass using both hands and a treasure map with a giant ‘X’ on it.

The press backed up the statement that Antifa is not an organization, as did the official mouthpiece of the coup, so my bet is on this entire thing being a coup.

You get what you pay for

Democrats’ latest tax borrow print and spend idea is to pay people to have children. They are going to send out checks to the parents of every child (as long as the parent makes below a certain amount of money) in the amount of $3600 a year PER KID.

Let’s use my home state as an example: Florida’s minimum wage is $8.65 an hour. That means that a person making minimum wage earns $17,992 a year. SNAP is limited to those who earn no more than 130% of the Federal poverty line. That means that a family of three is considered to be SNAP eligible if they are earning about $26,000 a year or less.

Let’s use that as our example: A single mother of two, ages 10 and 6, who is earning minimum wage. She would receive $500 a month in SNAP benefits. That same woman would get $6,600 a year in Earned Income Credit. There are other aid programs out there that will get her more benefits, but let’s concentrate just on this for now.

Adding up all of her benefits, a woman making minimum wage has an annual income of nearly $45,000 a year, and the only taxes she pays is Social Security and Medicare at $1,350 for the year. Her effective income when adjusting for the taxes not being paid on her handouts? She is making the equivalent of $65,000 a year.

The most lucrative job to have is making more ‘poor’ people, who will grow up and vote for more handouts.
