Computer Issue

There hasn’t been a post today because my computer decided (without my permission and over my objections) to upgrade itself to Windows 11. It’s been a bitch. The “upgrade” changed all sorts of stuff. My browser now says it’s being managed by my organization and I need to contact an administrator to change anything. My search engine is now Yahoo as a default, and many things have changed, right down to my bookmarks being reset to a version from 6 months ago.

It’s going to take a bit to fix all of this.

Exploding Debt

On June 1, the Republicans caved by giving President Biden a blank check to borrow whatever and how ever much money he wants to spend. On that day, the US debt stood at $31.46 Trillion. Within a month, the US had borrowed another Trillion dollars. Here we are, just six and a half weeks after they handed him the credit cards, with $32.54 Trillion in debt.

Proving that the Democrats never deal on ANYTHING with good faith, they are already calling for the abrogation of the handshake agreement that the parties reached to rein in the spending. They are borrowing money at a rate of over $100 Billion every business day. To put that in perspective, I wrote in 2009 that Obama had broken a record by borrowing a Trillion dollars in only six months.

It took this nation over 200 years to borrow a trillion dollars. Trump did it in seven months, Obama did it in only 6 months. It took Biden 9 months to borrow his first Trillion dollars, but he soon got better at it. His second trillion took three months, borrowing $2 trillion in his first year. In fact, he has increased the national debt by 118% in just two and a half years.

President Trump increased the National Debt by 134% in four years.

Obama increased the debt by 194% in eight years.

President George W Bush borrowed his first trillion dollars in two and a half years. He borrowed his second trillion a year and a half later. Another two years, another $1 trillion. All told, President Bush borrowed $5 trillion in 8 years, increasing the national debt by 187%.

It took President Clinton 3 and a half years to borrow his first trillion dollars. All told, he borrowed $1.2 trillion in his first term, and $600 billion in his second. He increased the national debt by 140% in eight years.

George HW Bush borrowed his first trillion in 3 years, and he increased the National debt by 170% in four years.

Reagan borrowed his first trillion in 6 years, and doubled the National debt during his eight years in the White House.

Carter increased the National debt by 150%, but “only” borrowed $300 billion in 4 years. I guess that was when $1 Billion was real money.

Ford increased the debt by 147% in 3 years., Nixon by 135% in 5 years, Johnson by 116% in 6 years, Kennedy by 106% in 2 years, Eisenhower by 108% in eight years.

Democrats, and Republicans, both in a contest to see who can spend the most in our society of “how much can you give me if I vote for you.”

Remember when the Biden spokeswoman told us that borrowing trillions didn’t cost anything because it was already accounted for? So that’s where we are- under Biden, the US has borrowed $4.75 trillion in just two and a half years. This can’t continue.

By definition, anything that can’t continue, won’t. There is no amount of voting that will fix this.

Laser Weapons

I would find out how much damage a 5 watt laser would do to a camera’s CMOS or CCD. You can buy one for about $400. That camera would be transmitting video of my house only until about 5 minutes after the UPS guy delivers my new purchase. I bet that he runs out of cameras before I run out of photons.

Or you could always call the cops, but it wouldn’t be as much fun.

In Florida, such an act would be illegal under 784.048:

A person who willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly follows, harasses, or cyberstalks another person commits the offense of stalking, a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

Women and Dating Today

Take a look at this:

About 20 years or so ago, I was in a SCUBA club. Organized through the local dive shop(LDS), we would book weekend trips to go diving. We would drive to South Florida, do a couple of dives, spend the night, do a couple of dives, then drive home. It was tradition to do a bit of dinner and drinking at the end of the first day.

It was during one of those dinners that I met a young lady who was employed at an Orlando area gentleman’s club. Yes, it’s what you are thinking- she was a stripper. During dinner, she mentioned that there was no way that she would sleep with a man until he had taken her on at least two expensive dates. Her exact words were “I am not about to give him any until he has spent at least $200 on me.”

Well, women like that piss me off, so I said: “Do I actually have to spend time listening to you talk, or will you just take a check?” while pulling out my checkbook. (That’s a book with special pieces of paper in them that you can take to the bank and exchange for money, for those of you born after 1998 or so.)

With that comment, the table went silent. When we got back to the hotel, my buddy David said, “I can’t believe you called that chick a whore.”

My reply: “I didn’t. She did. Just because she was willing to accept goods instead of cash doesn’t change the fact that she is having sex in exchange for things of value.”

Too many women plan dates on how they can get free meals, free drinks, and live a lavish lifestyle on a man’s dime, all while screaming that they deserve to make as much as a man does. Dating sucks, because men are suckers for this kind of woman, who likely is looking for a man to spend a couple of hundred bucks treating her to dinner and an evening’s entertainment.

Women like this have reduced relationships to a straight up barter exchange. They have no personalities and are bartering their youth and good looks in exchange for things like meals, cars, and even a lifestyle of living in a man’s home for free. They forget that they are worth as much as they ever will be, and their value on the market declines as they get older. There is always going to be someone younger and prettier, and since they have no personality and can’t carry on a conversation about anything more engaging than the latest Kardashian episode, are impossible to talk to. They can’t or won’t cook, clean, or help contribute to the household in any way. That is known in finance circles as a depreciating asset.

Now contrast that with most men. They are only going to increase in earning potential and value as they get older and more experienced in their careers. Why would a man want to be saddled with an asset that is declining in value while they themselves are gaining in wealth?

This is why marriage is dying. Too many women are greedy gold diggers who are useless for anything beyond their youth and good looks and will turn on you as soon as what they perceive is a better deal comes along to give them more money and stuff than you do. This is why I am glad that my wife is not one of those women. They are a rare find.

Airfares Soon to Increase

Having solved all of this nation’s problems, the Executive decides to fix the problem of handicapped restroom access on aircraft:

Prepare to see airfares increase to cover the cost of retrofitting all of the aircraft with handicapped restrooms. Now I know that many of you will say “I don’t fly, anyhow” but that isn’t the point. The point here is that the limousine liberals of the left want to be the only ones who can afford to travel, eat at nice restaurants, and go on vacations. They can’t stand the fact that poor people have access to the things that they have. It isn’t that they are really concerned about the environment or about carbon emissions. No, they want to make sure that the elites are the only ones who have access to luxuries like getting on an airplane. After all, you can’t be an elite if just anyone can fly off to Bali or the French Riviera.

Andrew Wilkow has a theory that the only reason why the left is opposed to capitalism and rich people is because they can’t stand knowing that ordinary people have access to luxuries that only the important people should have. After all, what’s the point of being a VIP if anyone could do what you do or have what you have? He calls this theory his “Everyman a King” theory.

Look, Squirrel!

The left is busy pointing out that an aide to Clarence Thomas was sent money through the app “Venmo.” They insinuate that it is somehow something unsavory or potential bribery. The amounts involved are not mentioned, but the payments are mentioned as being for a Christmas party. This tells me that the payments were likely less than $200 each. That hardly falls under the same category as the MILLIONS that the Bidens have collected.

This is clearly being done as a means of pulling the bribery spotlight off of the Bidens. Expect the left to continue this war against the Supreme Court. Now that the left has corrupted the electoral process, expect SCOTUS to be packed soon as well.

Up To… As Much As

The biggest annoyance to all of my Internet provider nonsense is the idea that I am paying for speeds of “up to” 800 MB/s. The problem is that I speedtest it, and have not gotten more than 75. When I called them on it, I got the “we promise as much as 800, but the time of day and conditions sometimes affect your speeds.”

Here is the thing: I only work 3 days a week. When I do work, I work a 12 hour day. I get home at midnight, one in the morning, sometimes (when I work the 15-03 shift) I don’t get home until 4 am. What all of that means is that I speed test all hours of the day or night, on many different days of the week.

This reminds me of the days when cell phone providers did the same thing. I was a customer of Sprint back when they were Nextel. My relationship with that company ended with me filing a lawsuit when I cancelled service after my phone service failed after 2004’s Hurricane Charley. I wanted to cancel my service because the number of missed and dropped calls was ridiculous. They claimed that they didn’t guarantee cell service in any particular location or at any particular time. As long as their phone service worked somewhere and sometimes, they were fulfilling their end of the deal. They told me that either I could stay with them or pay the $600 cancellation fee.

I paid the fee to avoid the hit to my credit and then sued them. I won the lawsuit, and was refunded my fees plus some additional my time and trouble. I remained on the Sprint shit list for over a decade.

Drugs

During the first few weeks of my new ED experience, I can tell you that the community of this new hospital has a larger drug problem than the last. At least a third of my patients have been on Meth or Tranq. Every patient that I have ordered a tox screen for has been positive for one or more of the following: opioids, Benzodiazepines, cannabis, or methamphetamines- in one case, even an 80 year old woman who came in unresponsive and wound up dying- she tested positive for benzodiazepines and cannabis.

In one day alone, I had four different patients come in that were combative because they were on Meth. One of them required 4 nurses, 2 paramedics, and 8 security guards to hold down. We wrestled with him for almost 45 minutes and had to give him 6mg of Ativan, 50 mg of Benadryl, and 10mg of Haldol before he took a nap.
