A man kidnaps and rapes a 14 year old girl. He is arrested and released on bond. A condition of the bond was that the man was to have no contact with the victim or her family.
That same night, the girl is again found to be missing at 1 am. The police and the girl’s father were looking for her. The father found her first. In a truck. In a park. With her rapist.
An argument ensued, shots rang out, and the rapist was dead.
The cops arrested the dad for first degree murder, and the dad is now out on bond. The cops said that there was no reason to shoot the man, because they were on the case.
“This guy that preyed upon their daughter was released on bond, and we had stopped him that night and got him with her,” the Sheriff said. “That bond would have been revoked. He would have never got out of jail. None of the bond companies would have let him out. We wouldn’t let him out.”
The mother of the child said that she and her husband were in fear that the man was going to murder their daughter.
“We absolutely called 911 during the entire event,” she wrote. “We had no idea this man was in contact with our child again. He was waiting 6-9 felonies for what he did, not 2. He was looking at the rest of his pathetic life in jail, and our daughter was the only witness.”
“Some things we will never know, but we know that the police department afforded this predator privacy they did not give our family,” she wrote. “I’m deeply offended by the way this was handled by the county sheriff’s office.”
The prosecutor has not yet filed any charges. Gofundme is not permitting the father to raise money for his defense, because they claim to not allow collections for legal defense of an alleged violent crime.
The child’s mother claims to know why the police are so determined to arrest her husband: the dead rapist was a retired police chief and former school resource officer from Indiana:
[The mother] said the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office’s actions are proof that the sheriff “supports predators” and that he will prosecute those who are trying to protect their families.
I am not sure you will be able to assemble a jury that will find him guilty, unless the court wants to cheat the system and prevent the defense from mentioning the events that led up to the shooting.
I do know that in Florida, the law says that you can use lethal force to prevent the imminent commission of a forcible felony, which includes sexual battery and kidnapping. Of course that won’t stop a crooked cop or politically motivated prosecutor from charging you anyhow, leaving you penniless. Ask George Zimmerman how that works.

I’m familiar with this case from the Indiana side. Apparently it was an open secret he was preying on young girls….
oldvet50 · October 14, 2024 at 5:54 am
I agree. This was a public service, not a murder. He should get a medal and keys to the city. Sadly, it is not about law anymore, but instead, feelings. It depends on the jury selected as to the fate of this righteous father. I know I would never be called for jury duty (in fact, I have never served on a jury my entire life) because of my attitude. I strongly believe in jury nullification. For example, anytime the defense (not the prosecution) is prohibited from presenting certain evidence, I would automatically vote ‘not guilty’. If they will not give all the facts and let me decide, it is rigged. For the judge to say “The jury will disregard….” is a joke!
Divemedic · October 14, 2024 at 6:44 am
You will never know if the jury is excluded from hearing evidence. That decision is made outside of the jury’s hearing.
There are times when a jury SHOULDN’T hear evidence. For example, if the cops obtained evidence without probable cause or a warrant, the jury won’t hear about it. Why? Because that evidence can prejudice a jury. The idea is that it is better to let ten guilty men go free than it is for one innocent man to go to jail.
The problem is that it is also used to tilt the process in favor of tossing the innocent in jail.
I have been called to jury duty twice. Once, I never made it out of the waiting room. The second time, I made it as far as the selection room. They asked me if I thought police officers were more reliable witnesses than private citizens. I responded that I work with cops every day, and they are human and are as prone to prejudice and error as much as anyone else. I was excused.
Rick · October 14, 2024 at 1:55 pm
I have been called many times. Twice I made it to voir dire. Twice I excused by defense after questioning. I have watched absolute knuckleheads be selected to sit on a jury.
A woman who kept her nose in her magazine the entire time the judge acquainted us with the process. Then she could barely make coherent sentences and repeatedly asked for clarification.
A woman and man overheard saying they believed the defendant innocent, before any remarks were made about the case. All three were selected to sit on the jury.
Its maddening. Based on these and other examples, I do not ascribe to that saying about a jury of one’s peers. I believe that to make it onto a jury, one would play dumb if it doesn’t come naturally.

I commented along this vein in another blog somewhere’s over the weekend as the post I read spawned the epiphany. It highlights the difference among our society. There appears to be 2 camps of people, and that’s what all the fighting is about:
You either want to live in a society where individuals are responsible for themselves, at all levels, or you want to live in a society where society takes care of the individual, and they are not responsible for their own dealings, status, stature, etc.
I find it hard to not express the two sides w/o some form of contempt for the one, so please see passed the bias in my wording, but at the end of the day, that’s the sole issue.
I’m responsible for me, or I’m not responsible for me.
Pick any of the issues at debate in our society at large today, they can all be reduced to “I am responsible for this”, or “I am not responsible for this”. Statists, Dems, leftists, etc., want the state to be involved in everything from top to bottom so as to remove their responsibility from consequences. These are the corporate types that work in paper-shuffling office jobs who are unable to articulate what it is they actually do (facilitators and managers alike). They see the system as a necessary part of society, and working for it, towards it, in support of it, is a good thing.
Individuals on the other hand see the state as repressive, and an impediment to their goals, and should be reduced to the bare minimum.
I’m sorry if I haven’t encapsulated “The forest” all that well, but “The Tree’s” are blindingly obvious at this point, and they all say the same thing. You’re either for big gov, or against it. Every single issue boils down to that fulcrum. I’m responsible for this, or I want someone else to be responsible.

The father killing the rapist (perhaps too quickly – draw it out) denies the justice system their cut so to speak. Can’t have that. When the GDP is calculated, I wonder how much the entire “justice” system contributes – everything from the cop on the street writing tickets to fill the city coffers, to the prosecutors, judges, lawyers, and prison/parole system combined. Most all with “immunity”.

“Gofundme is not permitting the father to raise money for his defense, because they claim to not allow collections for legal defense of an alleged violent crime.”
These are the worst kinds of tyrants. Their sole function is to funnel money from A to B and defense against criminal charges — NO MATTER WHO or WHAT the charge — is a piece of the foundations of civil society. Preventing someone from mounting a defense against criminal prosecution tells me they should be bankrupted, stripped of their assets, and deported as they’re not fit to participate in civilization.

How would conservatives feel if this father then killed the cop that tried to arrest him, on the grounds of self-defense against kidnapping, which it would be if the kidnapper wasn’t wearing a magic blue uniform? Don’t listen to what conservatives say, it’s a misdirection to hide their agenda; watch what they do such as snitch. No conservative would hide this father in their attic. The legal establishment and all the conservatives are on the side of the rapists, defending them against their victims. Conservatives and liberals are two teams playing the same political football game by the same rules for the same stakes. Conservatives don’t want freedom, they want to be the ones in charge.
I wonder, however, how the girl got “kidnapped” a second time without being able to raise an alarm? Maybe she was dating the guy, or trading sex for drugs, and “rape” was what she told her parents to avoid punishment.
wojtek · October 14, 2024 at 5:35 pm
I can’t speak for others but personally in this case first and foremost I’d blame the rapist and then whomever released the rapist. I’d view this as an unnecessary loss of life caused by a system corrupted up to a level of not functioning by aggressive leftist judicial agenda which pushes the common sense bar lower and lower. But that’s just me.
Odd Poster · October 14, 2024 at 11:25 am
Exactly how did this second “kidnapping” start? Did he drive up and hold a gun on her so she couldn’t run away? But suppose the girl voluntarily got in the truck, and was doing something midway between dating and prostitution. By her behavior she’s declared herself to be an adult. She has homesteaded her self, by the open and notorious adverse possession of her self. Her parents’ control over her should now end, as well as their duty to feed/clothe/house her.
Divemedic · October 15, 2024 at 6:07 am
Children cannot consent. That’s why they can’t get married, they can’t enter into contracts, and can’t have consensual sexual relations. In many states, they can’t get a tattoo. Why?
Because, no matter how developed or mature their bodies may look (and some 16 and 17 year olds are more developed than 25 year old women) their brains are not, and they are not mature enough to have the capability of considering the full ramifications of their decisions and actions. Therefore, it is the responsibility of adults to protect them and not take advantage of their position.
Odd Poster · October 14, 2024 at 12:16 pm
An “adult” animal is one that has physically matured enough to reproduce. Conservatives own young adults as slaves because they are able to win that military contest. A small portion of that contest is because the parent weighs 50 pounds more. A much larger portion is because the parents collude to capture runaway slaves if they try to set up their own household and work for a living. Adolescents will be the last category of slaves to be free.
Not many years ago, Americans aged 13 were already in the workforce, learning a trade, and soon pairing up and starting families. The concept of “teenagers” as kept-helpless overgrown children is a modern invention. The “college experience” as a “substitute parent” works to continue that helplessness. Immense “college debt” continues the glass ceiling after graduation. When technological innovation means bright adolescents gain sufficient weapons to impose MAD on their parents, the modern invention of “teenagers” will end.
Laughing Gator · October 14, 2024 at 10:42 pm
So a 13 year old girl is a slave and years ago was considered an “adult” huh?

RTG1215 · October 15, 2024 at 12:31 pm
Back in the day, *everybody* worked, even small children, as much as they were able. It was not considered an “adult” activity.

Odd Poster, could I ask you a favor? Can you set up a friend(?)/relative to post on here what happens when you get caught with a minor? I’d appreciate it.
JB · October 14, 2024 at 3:02 pm
As a father and grandfather of girls I would not hesitate to dispatch a kidnapper or rapist of any of my girls. I do live in Florida but they makes no difference in my response. The US legal system is not a justice system in that it fails to serve sufficient punishment for the crimes that take place. Liberalism has watered down the treatments criminals deserve for their crimes. The system treats victims as criminals and criminals as victims. And why vigilante justice is the only true justice in todays Communist America.
Don Curton · October 14, 2024 at 3:39 pm
I’m not sure what angle the “Odd Poster” is coming from, but I too had the same question. How did the girl end up in the truck of her rapist at 1 am? That part doesn’t make any sense. I’ll still side with the father doing the right thing, but I fear there’s a little more to this story that we aren’t hearing.
And yeah, even if the father is found not guilty, he’s still on the hook for probably $100k of legal expenses and more than several years of drawn out legal drama. The process is the punishment.
lynn · October 14, 2024 at 3:47 pm
Sounds like the father of the raped girl took out a predator that the cops / DA refused to keep in jail.
Also sounds like the 14 year old girl was very enthralled with the predator.

If you don’t believe a known predator does not have a bag of tricks used to manipulate a 13 year old girl to get her to rebel against her parents… there is no explaining it to you.

This- Predators are very adept at manipulation, and there are predators who manipulate adults as well.

Odd Poster was indeed “odd”…..but did raise an interesting question…..one that immediately came to my mind when I read that she was “kidnapped” a second time by the same guy…….
“I wonder, however, how the girl got “kidnapped” a second time without being able to raise an alarm? Maybe she was dating the guy, or trading sex for drugs, and “rape” was what she told her parents to avoid punishment.”
Anyway good for the dad, he rid society of one more piece of vermin that won’t be molesting any more teenage girls….whether she was agreeable to it or not doesn’t matter….she was underage and an upstanding man does not take advantage of underage girls…..
The reaction of the cops is laughable….typical CYA…..”we were on it…he wouldn’t have seen the light of day again”….right……”this time it would have been different”….sure…..
Beans · October 15, 2024 at 1:50 pm
It’s still rape even if she ‘consented’ due to the age difference.
If we are to believe ‘Odd Person,’ then consensual contact between male teachers or priests or female teachers or priests and non-adults is fully okay. Which it is not, most certainly not.
In my opinion, unless majorly different information comes out regarding the father, I see it as a good shoot. Sounds like there was a struggle and the father won.
As to anyone who thinks that children can’t be manipulated, I say go find an adult victim of child sexual predation and listen to them try to justify why they were the one at fault. Like how a 6yo can justify her rape because she ‘sexually attracted the man.’

wikipedia.org/wiki/Ages_of_consent_in_the_United_States says: In 1880, the ages of consent were set at 10 or 12 in most states
Yet 100 years later with better nutrition human brains are maturing more slowly now? How did that number of 10-12 get picked by the legislatures, were the majority of American voters in 1880 all pedophiles? Today some 16 and 17 year olds are more physically developed than 25 year old women, but their brain development doesn’t keep pace with their body development? Does that make medical sense?
wikipedia: Restricted by age difference: younger partner is deemed able to consent to having sex with an older one as long as their age difference does not exceed a specified amount.
Today that age is 14 in Indiana, and 13 in some other states. Because the “child” does not have a child’s immature brain if she picks another high school age person as a partner? Or you’re less pregnant if the father is under 18? Gee that makes sense.
Divemedic · October 15, 2024 at 10:50 am
That is because they didn’t know anything about mature brains back then. The prefrontal cortex is responsible for higher-order cognitive functions like reasoning, decision-making, and personality expression. This area is responsible for skills like planning, prioritizing, and making good decisions. It is also one of the last parts of the brain to fully develop, typically not reaching maturity until the mid-to-late 20s. This is why teens do stupid, immature shit.
Dude, stop trying to justify fucking little kids.
Beans · October 15, 2024 at 1:53 pm
In many late medieval and post-medieval European countries, the marrying age for men was often ‘when they could prove their ability to afford a family’ and for women ‘when they could prove their ability to care for a family.’ In the Germanies, the ages for both were often around 20-25. Because that’s the age of ‘responsibility.’

As usual, the classic mistake after a public service extermination, was waiting around afterwards to chat with TPTB.
Nothing good ever comes from that.
Do your business, and split.
If you have time to police up your brass, so much the better.
If the vehicle the rapist was sitting in “spontaneously” combusts as you’re leaving, making forensic evidence collection much harder, better still.
TPTB are not Justice Holmes, Clarence Darrow, and Sheriff Andy any more.
Conduct yourselves accordingly.

The issue here is that doing so is called tampering with evidence and consciousness of guilt. See this link for a great explanation.
